Jody MILLER
Biography
In 2011 I began to travel internationally. At the time, I had no formal photography training and I was disappointed that my travel images looked nothing like the photographs I admired in magazines. From that point forward, I’ve been using each opportunity to learn and improve my photographic skills.
That desire to learn and improve has led me into owning my own studio, achieving international photographic awards, joining the professional photographic community, and becoming an art director for a Fortune 100 company.
Most importantly it has led me to enjoying the world of exploration through the beauty of the lens.
Now my husband and I live in Petersburg with our 2 Chocolate Labradors & 1 Bernese Mountain Fluff. We’re fortunate to be surrounded by nature which is a constant inspiration.
Artist Statement
I create imagery rooted in authenticity, emotion, and narrative. Inspired by pups, wine, nature, and the characters of the places, people, and animals that I encounter.
My experience spans from large scale corporate work to fine art creations to custom photography of client pets.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been traveling the world as the art & creative director for a Fortune 100 company with the responsibility to strengthen its branding through creative art installations, video content, photography, and customer experiences.
Outside of the corporate world, I’ve owned a photography studio, Fig Photography, that focuses on fine art pup photography since 2013. I’m currently working to expand this to wine & travel marketing and fine art photography.
I’ve learned a lot from the corporate world, but now i’m excited to step out of the large corporate role and focus on what I love -
Celebrating pups, wine, & nature through photography & art!
